Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry)

Following an injury or illness, physical medicine and rehabilitation are crucial to getting life back on track. Regional Health has physical medicine and rehabilitation staff who are patient, kind and will establish a treatment plan that best fits your needs.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians, also known as physiatrists, treat a variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.  Our physiatrists specialize in neurorehabilitation (Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Rehab), Pain Medicine, and/or Sports, Spine, and Musculoskeletal Medicine. They treat patients of all ages and focus their treatment plans on function and quality of life. They treat disabling conditions that can affect a person throughout their lifetime (e.g. MS, ALS, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke), and diagnose and treat pain as a result of an injury, illness, or disabling conditions. They help to lead and coordinate patient care with other medical professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, advanced practice providers, and other physicians to optimize patient outcomes. Our  focus is on treating the whole person, not just their presenting problem area.
