Hospice House offers a home-like setting for patients and their families. Hospice House provides three levels of care.
Acute care: The Hospice House provides 24/7 skilled nursing care for patients who are rapidly declining or where the medical condition requires skilled care.
Respite care: A five-day stay is available under Medicare, Medicaid and some insurance to allow family members a respite from caregiving.
Residential care: If hospice care at home isn’t possible, Hospice House provides residential care. Most insurance covers the hospice care at Hospice House. Patients are responsible for a $200 daily room and board cost.

Support and Counseling Services Offered
Support and Counseling Services offers services for patients and family members. Staff members make contact with hospice families for at least a year following the death of their loved one. A free support group is open to those who have lost a loved one. For more information, call Support and Counseling Services, (605) 719-7722.
Be a Hospice Volunteer
Volunteers play a special and important role in hospice care. A volunteer’s visit may be the single most important event in that patient or family member's day. The primary duty of the volunteer is to provide practical help with caring, warmth and understanding. Volunteers also assist with clerical and office support.
