Spearfish Regional Hospital Breast-Feeding Class

This two-hour class covers breast-feeding basics and answers the most common breast-feeding questions. Cost is $10 per couple (it is recommended a support person attend with the mother). Topics include benefits of breast-feeding, how long to breast-feed, breast anatomy/physiology, how to know the baby is hungry or full, how to position and latch the baby to the breast to avoid pain, expressing milk, and how to tell if the baby is getting enough milk. A question and answer session will follow.
The breast-feeding class takes place the second Tuesday of every month. Tours of the facility are offered at the time of the class.
