The Resident Assistant performs supervised tasks related to the delivery of health and personal cares and activities for the residents that reside at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Facility. This promotes health, comfort, and maintenance of their functional ability and works towards meeting the resident specific goals outlined in their individualized plan of care. Assists residents with personal cares in accordance with the resident plan of care and as delegated by the RN/LPN/RCM/DRS. Including, bathing, oral cares, feeding, toileting and repositioning/transferring as well as other duties as needed. Reports immediately any changes in patient status or pertinent patient information to the nurse. Responds in a timely manner to patient/family requests and communicates patient needs to appropriate nursing personnel. Responds to all patient call lights and communicates patient needs to appropriate nursing personnel. Organizes workload to complete responsibilities within a designated time period as evidenced by observation and feedback. Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to policies, procedures, and regulations. Continually monitors patients and interactions on the unit. Provides supportive interactions at all times to patients and families. Spends time with patients. Obtains resident vital signs and weights on a monthly basis or as ordered by physician. Positively supports and contributes to departmental development as evidenced by participating in meetings and training. Completes requirements for department specific education as evidenced by successful completion of required classes, and by documentation, observation, and feedback. CNA certification preferred, but will train qualified applicant.  High School diploma or GED required.
